  • I'm in one of those good moods you tend to get because of the weather. Today is about 70 degrees with a bit of wind but, compared to some of the cold days (all...three of them) we've had this winter, it's a definite upgrade. Everyone seems to be chipper, even the professors that I work with. My boss just gave me a fortune cookie but said that everyone's seemed to have the same fortune in them. I was like "well, mine will be different". I crack open the sucker and felt incredibly retarded: "Confucius say...you come to career fair". Laaaaaaaame.

Amanda and I came to the conclusion that we are 6 year-olds trapped in college student bodies. I mean, we goof around, we go on fruit snack runs during class, and we joke around about people flirting when it's obvious that it can't happen. Okay, so maybe it's a mixture of all childhood ages, but not the point. We're immature at heart...now where's my Lisa Frank backpack?

And, if you ever thought you could beat me at making faces, meet your match:

    mejenn2

    I will crush you.

  • My heart is about to explode.

  • Apparently I'm going for more of a weekly feel on here, so here's your dose for 18-24.

The past few days have been interesting. My head feels like it has been swimming for weeks and wants to pass out. I skipped my classes yesterday because I didn't feel like stumbling around to classes. People have been really nice to me though: understanding when I basically slept all day...Aubrey even made/got me dinner the past two nights. I went to the health center and they told me that they didn't know what it was. Leave it to the doctors to help me get better. I'm better off just asking my suitemates.

Wouldn't it be horrible to lose your memory, either long or short-term? You'd think you'd remember something correctly and then find out that what you had thought was actually nowhere close to true. People might try to take advantage of your lack of memory and just use you until you're absolutely nothing. The concept just scares me.

Here's hoping that I am able to get all that I need to get done before Friday...Monday at the VERY latest since I'm going home this weekend. This "whateverly weird" sickness has kinda ruined a bit of that, but I'm a trooper!...either that or I'm just stubborn. Either's fine with me =D

    un mes.

  • Flabbergasted

I'm absolutely in shock. I was just checking my email and was going though the junk mail when I saw a name that looked pretty familiar. I clicked on it and, lo and behold...it was from Jason. Yes, Jason from many months ago who was in the car accident. He was telling me that he is slowly getting better and better every day...getting back to normal. He asked if it was okay if he stopped by the next time he is out here......duh! I'm just still shocked that he was able to email me himself. I haven't been able to call him since about Thanksgiving...keep forgetting to bring the number home or put more minutes on my phone card.

Valentines day has just begun and I've already gotten a wonderful present =)

  • Why oh why, dear college, must you be so exhausting?

Today is Tuesday, if case you forgot. Tuesday means the day before Wednesday, which is halfway through the week. Thursday is the day we always wish was Friday, and Friday is the day that we all wish would come a lot faster than it normally does.

I do wish I had a lot more passion...in general. I don't feel exceptionally passionate toward most things...my major, what I want to do with my life, etc. Maybe it will develop. I don't know.

    meh

  • I just want my heart to be true

The Avett Brothers make me happy, even if my roommate doesn't like them.

Tonight was the superbowl party at Aaron and Joellen's. I'm glad I went...good company, great food, and a freaking crazy football game. Woot! I had my first bout with sake...interesting stuff, but I don't think I'll make it a staple in my diet.

This past week was pretty tiring and...well...tiring. I don't see this semester getting much easier. If you guys wonder why I sleep so much when I get back from class or on the weekends, it's because those 5-6 hours of sleep are simply not cutting it. Woot naps!

I like how life is exciting...in so many different ways.

  • crn0816: On the bright side, I'm mostly healthy
    witty isnt it: ...good?
crn0816: Though apparently I have a body fat around 6.5%, which apparently means I'm dead
crn0816: And our pacer CD thing kept skipping. I think we all did at least 10 more than what the thing said we did
    witty isnt it: haha
witty isnt it: how many did you do?
crn0816: I dunno. I did about 30, not factoring in the skips. That means I'd probably be healthy if I had a vagina.
crn0816: Turning around was lame, because there were people close on both sides. Bleh
crn0816: Then we had to lift an elephant and start a fire using only some soaked wood and our mindpowers
crn0816: They put us guys through some pretty tough tests
    witty isnt it: oof
witty isnt it: you should see what the girls had to do when i was there
witty isnt it: clean three houses in 20 minutes, burp babies, and drive a soccer mom van around an obstacle course in under a minute
crn0816: We had to hunt wild game with a pepple. And crush 60 beercans on our head in a minute
witty isnt it: we had to manage to bitch out 45 girls in thirty seconds
witty isnt it: and call them all fat
witty isnt it: ....and then dodge the punches
witty isnt it: person with the least amount of bruises and broken bones won
witty isnt it: they were worthy of living
crn0816: We each built a replica of the eiffel tower out of sticks, mud, and determination. We then had to climb to the top and jump off. Whoever was manly enough to defy gravity was considered healthy
crn0816: All of that, I could live with. Now I have a sore throat that is only exacerbated by the fast breathing I performed.
    witty isnt it: aw
crn0816: I missed the bus to Mendenhall again. Did you know how cold it is outside? As cold as ice! Literally.
    witty isnt it: i know
witty isnt it: my ears were stinging
crn0816: My coat is usually all "Nuh uh boys, you ain't gettin yo cold selves in here", but today it served as little more than a doorway
    witty isnt it: heh
witty isnt it: yeah, my coat is huge and warm
witty isnt it: but it didnt help my face at all
crn0816: My face was fine. I warmed it up by pressing it against the puddles of ice that I passed
witty isnt it: that makes no sense
crn0816: "It's sooooo cold outside, ice is warmer"
    witty isnt it: uh
    witty isnt it: no
    witty isnt it: sorry
    crn0816: Blerghenstein
    witty isnt it: bless you
    crn0816: It's dutch for blerg
    crn0816: *blergh
crn0816: Or whatever language has every word end in "stein"
    witty isnt it: german?
crn0816: German words end in spit
    witty isnt it: how true
crn0816: I can talk to libby. I'm all "il pleut"
crn0816: That's all I know though. Means "It is raining"
crn0816: The conversation tends to be pretty short
    witty isnt it: haha
witty isnt it: il fait froid
crn0816: Did you just call me a fat boy?
    witty isnt it: yes
    witty isnt it: in francais
    crn0816: I'm a fat boy named Francis?
crn0816: Ah, the weather is cold
    witty isnt it: yes
crn0816: I don't wanna go to statistics. Or Phil of Mind, for the matter, but its so much more bearable than...... statistics.
witty isnt it: just the name makes my skin crawl
    witty isnt it: literally
crn0816: You better go put your skin back in its crib
crn0816: And I should go to class
    crn0816: Goodbye
    witty isnt it: byeee

    Always a good time

  • I just realized something...more like actually finally thought about the idea of anniversaries: what is typically seen as giving your loved one a gift one year after you started seeing each other. For some people it's a hassle to either figure out what the other person wants or to have to remember one specific day out of 365. I even heard the term "monthaversaries". Why do people do this anyway? Who decided that, after a certain amount of time, you should give a gift to your significant other?...and why is that so hectic for some?

My conclusion is that it is a day of celebration: not that you made it that far, but that you have been able to enjoy the company of the person for however long it is. The giving of gifts should be because you want to, not because you feel obligated. Ideally, I think each person in a relationship shouldn't have to worry about anniversaries because they should feel celebrated all the time. Don't get me wrong...I don't think you should go out and buy gifts for your loved one constantly; it'd lose its precious nature. Just make them feel special on a regular basis.

I think I'm going to try to, over my lifetime, change the stereotypes of dating.

  • cute.

I'm talking to this guy online who apparently cut his knuckle really deep on some metal. He's not understanding that icing the area will make the swelling go down and help it to not hurt. I keep telling him that the blood is still circulating in his finger and is making the nerves go crazy, but he keeps telling me he bled through three bandaids (relevance? beats me). I was tempted to be like, "so now you have no more blood in your body because it's all in those three bandaids...that sucks". Horrible as it sounds, but sometimes people just make me feel better about myself.

Only two more days of classes. Geeeeeeeeeez I'm tired =

  • I don't care what you think. City of Angels is an amazing movie and you won't be able to persuade me to think any different.

Today is what I like to call a "lazy Sunday". I went to church this morning and saw Chris Hoerber there, so I was able to catch up with him a little bit. Afterwards was grocery time. I don't think you understand how exciting it was to be able to just peruse the aisles. I haven't been able to buy groceries for about a month now (including over vacation) and haven't had the money to do it as well. I have some cooking ideas for the not-so-distant future, but we'll see how things go.

Overall I'd have to say that I'm pretty happy with my life. I know I've said that before (and quite recently), but I feel good. I'm happy who I'm with, what I'm doing, and whatever else is involved.
