I'm wondering when I'll finally get back into the vibe of writing on here. I miss being able to write whatever I felt like and actually liking what I see on the screen.

This past Saturday I had just stopped by work and decided to go to Oak Hollow Lake. I parked my car in the usual area and just sat there. The trees were starting to turn their hues of orange, red, and yellow. A man was singing with his guitar on the dock..."Amazing Grace". People were at either shelter and were having a good time. I heard a car drive up beside me and saw a man and his two young sons pile out and head toward the dock. A woman from one of the shelters went and thanked the singing dock man and offered a dinner invitation to him. The man and his sons plopped down on the dock and broke out some bottled drinks. His sons were being boys...the older playing around with the younger...the younger dancing around. I saw another man walking around with his little girl. He held her hand as they walked around the banks. The only thing wrong was that he was talking on his phone and not paying attention to the girl, although she seemed rather contented with holding her dad's hand and strolling around. I'd look back to the man and his sons....
I want that. I want trips to the lake. I want little kids who love me just about as much as I love them, knowing that half of them is me.
I'm still waiting...sorta patiently.

This weekend was the epitome of lovely.
Becky and I met up with my family in Maryland for my dad's friend's wedding. We ended up staying in a hotel...little did I know that we'd be staying at the Hilton. Wow. I walked in there and was blown away: statue in the middle of the huge floor, a bar to my right, huge check-in desk. Bec and I were pretty much in awe. After having a reunion with our parents, we trekked upstairs to our room. We ended up getting a free bottle of champagne and little desserts. King sized bed and everything =). The family minus Rachel went to Panera with the groom (Jim) and had a blast. I love seeing my dad happy.
The wedding the next day was nice. The thing that blew me away was the reception. We followed the cars to a mansion. There were sculptures all around the grass and had a fountain in front of the place. There was even a fountain inside, a pianist, live music with an ACCORDIAN, and absolutely the best food I have ever had. My family and I ate out in the sunlight on what might possibly be the prettiest day of the fall. The whole thing was surreal...like we were in a Hollywood movie. The newlyweds were happy and mingling, my family was together, and the environment was spectacular.
I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Tonight shall be a night of wonders. My friends and I are celebrating a certain Libby Yee's birthday. We're getting all decked out (no, we're not punching people) and heading out...to IHOP. Meal deals, yo. Meal deals. I'm currently waiting for Diana to get out of the shower so I can start getting ready. We're all nerds...and I'm okay with that.
I'm pretty excited for this weekend to get here. Friday will only be three hours of work and swimming. No class. No meetings. Just Missy time. Hooray! Saturday will be spent driving with my favorite Becky to Maryland for my dad's friend's wedding. Sunday is the big day and then another five hour drive home. The next week promises to be...meh. In my down time this weekend, I get to study for two exams. Hooray.*plllbbbttt*
I'm really excited to see my dad. He's gotten me outta a lot of tough crap here lately. I'll call him at all hours (funny story..ha) all teary-eyed and emotional and he's made me feel better. He wasn't able to see me off so I'm stoked to be able to give him a huge hug.
Get-ready time!

I'm quite disappointed. I thought I did well on the last entry and only one person responded. Tsk tsk.
It's the weekend. It shall be spent doing work and trying to spend as much time as possible not doing work. Hooray weekend.
As for now, I am going to not write anymore in xanga and enjoy spending time with my friends while smelling two day's worth of chlorine in my hair.
