  • I'm getting really slack at writing these things.

This upcoming school year will be a year of change. I predict it to be the most "growing" year of my entire existence. Instead of staying with my best friend on campus, I'm staying in a house with my sister and an art friend. My boyfriend is leaving for Spain for a year September 1st. I'm gonna try my darnedest to study abroad in New Zealand in the spring. Oh, and I have to find the money to do all of this. It's gonna be a challenge, but I have a feeling it's all gonna be the best for me. Somehow.

I probably have more to say but A) I don't think all of it needs to have the chance to be viewed by the entire internet world and B) I don't want to stay up much longer.

  • Here is the long, boring recap of my weekend. Be prepared.

So! Stupid me decided to take backroads to get to Swansboro instead of the highway. Stupid move, Missy. Anywho, I had left a little later than I had wanted and ended up being two hours late for when the shebang was supposed to start. Apparently, however, I was the first to show up. Guess that all worked out. So my friends and I hang out a bit and decide to go kayaking down the river. Christina and I were trucking around in our kayaks while Chris, Diana, and Libby were on a sailboat thingy. Anywho, as we're about to come back in (it's dark at this point), I notice an extra pair of hands helping bring in the boats. I thought it was a neighbor or something and then realized it was Aubrey! Hooray! He had told me that he wouldn't be able to make it because of work. Ahem. He lied. Anywho, that was a very pleasant surprise and we did the whole "birthday cake/gift" thing and then proceeded to play awful/violent games of ping-pong and twister (both of which I sucked at). The next day we all went to the beach. Good times but I think the ocean wanted to beat me up a little more than normal...that and my swimsuit apparently isn't very ocean-friendly. Aub and I headed to Chapel Hill to hang out there while the others disbanded as well. The rest of the time consisted of hanging out with his roommate, cooking tasty food, and going to a restaurant/bar downtown.

I had a great twentieth birthday...and that's about all I have to say about that.

  • This Saturday marks me being on the planet for one-fifth of a century. I'm glad the teenage years are gone and am looking forward to life as...er..."notanacnecoveredemotionalhighschoolnerdbag". Hooray!

Beaching until Sunday I think. I'll hopefully update with the festivities upon my return.

Currently listening to in head: My Chemical Romance "Teenagers" (totally not intentional)

  • I know there's more than all of this for me and I'm bound and determined to figure out what it is.

  • My weekend venture in Chapel Hill.

So I got to hang out with Aubrey and his roomie(s) this past weekend. Tyler and Palmer are A-OK guys in my book. I helped them move from their old apartment to the new and super cool one in Stratford...something. We saw the Future Islands show Saturday night...pretty kickin with Dan Deacon as well. They had a "choir" that Tyler was in...robes and everything. A mosh pit started that Aubrey and Richard loved but I chose to um...keep my face on. Btw, slow dancing to fast music is super cool =). The next morning was spent moving crap in the God-awful heat and then cooking out that night as I so stupidly forgot my shift that I was supposed to be working in HP. I felt like pooooooooooooooooooop. But! Good hamburgers made up for it (sorta). All I know is that, after this upcoming Thursday, I refuse to help anybody move their crap until August!

    Anywho, picture time:

  • So...you can believe either one of two stories. Or both if you so desire.

    A) I was walking through my house when a 39-foot bear attacked me and tried to claw my eyes out. I slammed his head in the microwave and nuked the sucker. We now have a new carpet.

    B) I itched my eye too much.

Personally, I'm rather fond of A.

  • Can you remember the way it used to feel
We'd run as fast and as far as we wanted to go
But then the walls closed in
And I was one step forward and two steps back
Two steps forward and three steps back

    Oh it's all too much
So take my hand we'll jump together

Baby I won't leave you on the inside
Together we can make it on the outside
You and me on the outside
You and me on the outside
    On the outside

Shine your light on me and I'll shine my light on you
Shine my light on you if you shine your light on me
Shine your light on me and I'll shine my light on you
    On the outside

  • I've been really crappy with writing entries in here. In fact, I'm pretty crappy about that all of the time. Don't worry, dear xanga...I won't delete you after our 5 12 years together. I've only been mildly cheating on you with myspace. Don't hate meeeee.

Anywho, everyone knows what time it is: exam time. I'm officially done with three of my five classes and will finish another today with a 4 page paper. Paper paper paper. Then it's two days of nothing and a tea party to finish it all up. Dad and Rach are coming here Friday to come get my crap (and me...here's hoping) so I'll be back in Trinity that night.

This semester has been the fastest 4 months of my life. I remember thinking at the beginning how it was going so slowly and bam! It's exam time. What?! Crazy. As much as I'm wanting to get out of the dorms, I'm gonna miss those suckers. Only one more semester that I can call 115B mine. Speaking of which, this upcoming summer and school year is probably going to be the most "growing" time yet for me in all of my almost twenty years (!!!). I'm going to be apart from some pretty amazing people (okay, person) for a good while, try to submit into ceramics, and then hop on a plane for the first time and head to a country on the opposite side of the world...or at least I hope and pray I will. Overall, I think it will open my eyes immensely and be a good experience in the end. It's just gonna pull and tug at me for a bit.

Oh, by the way. If you don't mind, please pray that my dad finds a new job that he...you know...actually likes. He quit his old one because they were lying to him and basically killing him. So uh...kick Averitt trucking in the kneecaps.
